Why wired is better
A wired data point gives you full speed with no drop-outs from walls, distance or the neighbours' WiFi. Video calls stop freezing, and big uploads finish faster.
Where to put data points
- The home office desk.
- Behind the main TV and gaming console.
- A central ceiling or high wall spot for a WiFi access point.
- Back to a neat central spot where the NBN connection lands.
Better WiFi with cabling
In bigger or two-storey homes, a couple of cabled WiFi access points beat any mesh system. Cabling is what makes whole-home WiFi work well.
Do it during a renovation
With walls open, running data cable is quick. Afterwards, it's still possible but takes more work. Jade holds an Open Cabler Registration, which is required for data and phone cabling in Australia.
Need the IT side set up?
We run and terminate the cabling. For WiFi, network and computer setup, we work with our partners at Illawarra Computer Service & Repairs.
