Safety first
- Pool equipment should be on a safety switch-protected circuit.
- Outdoor power points need weatherproof covers that seal with a plug in.
- No extension leads or power boards running the pump.
- Keep electrical equipment clear of splash zones.
Signs something's wrong
A safety switch that trips when the pump starts, a humming pump that won't turn, or scorch marks on the outlet all need checking. Switch it off and call an electrician.
Cut running costs
Variable speed pumps can use far less power than single speed pumps, because running slower for longer is much more efficient. A timer or smart controller means the pump runs when it needs to, ideally while your solar is producing.
Pool lighting and heaters
Pool lights, heat pumps and chlorinators often need their own circuits. We plan them together so the equipment pad is neat and safe.
